Scope: oil production

Application of DEFENDER series’ inhibitor in the produced oil collection and preparation system at one of the oil fields located in Europe

Dosage: Injection of 10-30 g of inhibitor per 1 ton of process fluid.

Object problems: corrosion and a large amount of asphalt, resin and paraffin deposits.

Solution

Inhibitor: DEFENDER-3115.5.

Review of application results

Degree of protection against corrosion (Z), as to stratal water that is returned to the well from the oil gathering system comprised: for wells No. 64 and 82 (distance from the main buildings - 900 m) - 96.8% and 94.0%, respectively. As to well No. 72, which is located at a distance of 3100 m from main buildings, we had also a significant protective effect - up to 90%.When injecting 10 g of inhibitor per 1 ton of process liquid for 2 weeks to protect wells No. 64, 72, 82, the protective effect comprised 90.9%. Later, due to the circumstances, we did not inject inhibitor in these wells for 3 weeks, but, despite this, the degree of protection against corrosion remained almost at the same level. That is why, inhibitors of DEFENDER series are referred to efficient and economically advantageous reagents having high anti-corrosion properties and a pronounced aftereffect.
