Q1- How do you feel right now?
I feel safe, secure, happy and excited about the new life I am having right now.
Q2- Why did you flee from Syria and what kind of hopes do you have here in Germany?
Syria is a war zone now and it is impossible to live in a country where you can’t be sure about your, your family and your beloved safety. I fled from Syria late in 2011 after I lost my job, some of my friends arrested by the dictatorship regime forces and my family had already left the country. They left three months after the revolution and demonstrations started, I stayed there alone with my dad, I took the step and left the home while my dad didn’t want to, but he was forced to flee later on in 2012. I want to start new life here in Germany, I want to settle down, work and be a productive person. First, I want to speak good German and then getting a good and respectful job. I am motivated and optimistic and I really feel happy to be part of the community here in Berlin. I have a lot hopes and I will do my best to make it here.
Q3- Did you really walk all the way or did you have other forms of transportation?
We crossed the sea between Turkey and Greece, then we walked a lot, we had a very long journey on foot but when we reached Hungary, we started using public transportation. We used some buses and taxis on the way, but most of the trip till Hungary was on our feet.
